           Welcome to Wollega University Institute of Health Sciences (WUIHS)

WUIHS, with its Referral Hospital, is the pioneer Health Science Institute in Western Ethiopia. It aspires to be one of top 25 Health Science Institutes in Africa in 2033.

The main focus of this institute is to provide high quality and sustainable Comprehensive health care, teaching, research and community service in a culture that encourages teamwork, inclusiveness, commitment to quality and the use of advanced technologies.

Our academic, Clinical, technical and administrative staffs are so committed to delivery standard health care and education for our community and students coming from different parts of the country and the world. Evidence based practice, use of up-to-date information and patient centered care are guiding principles at Wollega University Institute of Health Sciences and continues to guide us in our day to day activities.

In order to upgrade our daily activities and realize our vision, we are working with local and international communities. Therefore, the institute heartedly invite all interested partners over the globe to collaborate with us in areas of patient care, teaching, research and community service. Working with Wollega University Institute of Health Sciences also exposes international partners to tropical diseases, new experiences and challenges, and researchable areas.
